**EVENT FOR COVERAGE**

Local Honor Students Rewarded with 12,000 Beavers Tickets by Portland Baseball Group; Opportunity to Bring Favorite Teacher to May 22 Kids' Honor Day at PGE Park


WHO: The not-for-profit Portland Baseball Group and the Portland Beavers -- both dedicated to continued educational outreach in the community -- and 6,000 Portland and Vancouver, Wash.-area public school honors students, who will each bring a favorite teacher, parent or guardian with them as a guest to watch the Beavers take on the Memphis Redbirds.

WHAT: Second Annual Kids' Honor Day at PGE Park. Last year's event saw a tremendous turnout, with Kids' Honor Day among the club's best attended games of the season.

WHEN: Sunday, May 22, 2005; 2:05 p.m. start.

VISUALS: Available for interview prior to the contest will be one local student and the teacher that they brought to the game in gratitude for helping them excel in the classroom.

Portland School District Superintendent Vicki Phillips and Vancouver, Wash. School District Superintendent John Erickson will both throw out the ceremonial first pitch.

In addition, bumper stickers highlighting two partnering causes -- Bring Major League Education to Portland and Bring Major League Baseball to Portland -- will be handed out at the gate before the game.
